Finding the right DJ is much more than equipment and cost. A DJ can make or break an event, and is often the one thing determines whether or not people remember the party.

Special Occasions was the DJ for a wedding featured on the Bravo Network's hit show "Shear Genius."  The episode is called I'm Borderline Pissed About That Hair and aired on Feburary 24th, 2010.  In the show, the cast of the show come to the wedding and style the hair for all the bridesmaids.  The lighting and DJ for the wedding was done by Special Occasions LA.

Presenting a toast at a wedding can be a lot of pressure. Often times the best way to lighten the mood is with a joke to get the audience on your side. Here are some of the best and worst toasts we have heard at some of our events.

5. Marriage is a 3 ring circus... The engagement Ring, The Wedding Ring, And Suffering!

4. This one is way too over done and needs to be banned from weddings! Ask the groom to put his hand on top of the bride's hand. Then look at him and say "Well Mike...I hope you enjoy this moment. Because this will be the last time you will have the upper hand in life."

Maybe not as appropriate, but one of the funnier ones we've seen was the best man walking up and saying "I was told the best man speech should last as long as it takes the groom to make love" Best man looks down and walks off stage.... Runs' back on and says "I'm kidding" and presents his sentiment.

2. At this event a grooms uncle was visiting from Texas and started his wedding toast like this... "My wife and I were happy for twenty years. Then we met."

Last summer DJ Ajay was recruited from an event to be a lucky extra on the hit show, "The Office."  Check out the clip below! (He's the DJ a the end...nice acting Ajay!

Rocking at the Oscars "Slumdog Millionaire" swept the Oscars in 8 categories.  Special Occasions was part of the DJ team that was chosen for the Official Slumdog Millionaire Oscar after party. Playing tunes for A.R. Rahman, Anil Kapoor, Dev Patel, Freida Pinto, Irfhan Khan, Danny Boyle, and more! It was a festive night full of fun and glamour.

The event was collaborated by Dulari Amin from Phenomenon Events. Sponsors included Fox, Heineken & Vitamin Water.
